Development of innovative polymeric nanocomposite materials for applications in optics, electronics and sensoristics

Description

The nanocomposite with polymeric matrix represent a new class of charged materials in which at least one of the dimensions of the dispersed particles (nanofillers) is of the order of magnitude of a nanometer (10-9 m). The mixing of polymers and inorganic particles producing properties and outstanding performance. These composites represent the most advanced research in the field of Materials Science applied to polymers and innovative devices.

There are several methodological approaches and process technologies that enable the synthesis of these nanocomposite materials. In particular, in this project were used advanced technologies for synthesis of nanocomposites as the in-site synthesis by irradiation of “enriched” polymers with metal precursors using electrons and photon beams (laser) and a physical process such as ion implantation.
